María José Llergo, born in Pozoblanco, Córdoba, and based in Madrid, is one of the most promising artists in the Spanish music scene. Recognized for her passionate performances and her unique fusion of flamenco, soul, and contemporary sounds, her voice conveys deep emotion, while her lyrics explore themes such as love, identity, and the human experience.
Since her debut in 2018 with Niña de las dunas, her project has grown steadily. Her music gained global recognition after being featured on the prestigious COLORS platform. In 2022 she won a Goya Award for Best Original Song for Te Espera el Mar.
One year later, she released her first LP, Ultrabelleza, an artistic rebirth filled with empowerment and creative evolution, which has earned her international recognition on iconic platforms such as NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts and KEXP. With Ultrabelleza, María José Llergo redefines the boundaries of art and creates a sonic refuge for those who do not fit into traditional social standards.
